COMING SOON

You’ve waited over 400 years—now be among the first to witness history in the making! Resurgens Theatre Company is proud to present the North American professional premiere of Shakespeare’s lost play, The History of Cardenio. Based on Cervantes’ Don Quixote, this collaborative tragicomedy (co-written with John Fletcher) crowned the Bard’s illustrious career, but disappeared after a devastating fire reportedly destroyed the original manuscript in 1808. Undaunted, Dr. Gary Taylor has spent several decades carefully reconstructing the play by employing state-of-the-art database analysis, and has agreed to share his work with Resurgens. Experience the wonders of his well-wrought labors Thursday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 26 at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 27 at 2:00 and 6:00 p.m. (And join us for a special encore performance of Mucedorus on Friday, Sept. 25 at 8:00 p.m.)

All performances will be at our new venue, the historic Pythagoras Masonic Temple (108 E. Ponce de Leon Ave.) in Decatur.

Tickets are only $20, and are available online below
